Who we are
Virtual Journeys is Michael Nees's travel planning business in New Zealand. This website, virtualjourneys.co.nz, is run by Virtual Journeys. If anything here is unclear, ask Michael.
Consultations
Consultations are booked in Calendly and paid by card through Stripe when you choose your time. What each option includes is set out on Work with Michael.
If you need to move your call, use the link in your booking confirmation or contact Michael. If you are not happy with the service, contact Michael first; he will do his best to put it right.
Michael gives advice and itinerary planning, including advice on operators and private driver-guides. He does not make bookings or take payment for travel: you book directly, and each booking is a contract between you and the airline, hotel, rental company, guide or tour operator.
Live online tours
Live online tours are booked and paid in Calendly. If you need to change the date, contact Michael as early as you can; tours need at least 7 days' notice.
Itineraries, guides and driving times
The sample itineraries, guides, maps and driving times are general information to help you plan. Prices, opening times, roads and conditions change, so check details with the operator or official source before you travel. Driving times are without stops; allow extra time.
Affiliate links
Some links on this site (for example to rental cars, campervans, accommodation and tours) are affiliate links. If you book through them, Virtual Journeys may earn a small commission, at no extra cost to you. Michael only recommends companies he trusts.
360° tours and videos
The 360° tours are watched on DeoVR, under DeoVR's own terms. The rights to the tours and videos remain with Virtual Journeys.
Virtual Journeys is not responsible for your device or internet connection. 360° files are large, so a good connection helps. The tours work on a phone or computer; a VR headset is optional and your own responsibility.
Your personal details
When you contact Michael or ask for a route by email, we collect your name, email address and anything you write, and use them only to reply to you and send what you asked for. Calendly and Stripe handle your booking and payment under their own privacy policies.
We do not sell or share your details. To see, correct or delete what we hold, contact Michael. The site may use analytics cookies to count visits; they do not identify you.
